Brief History
The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) was established in 1964 as the umbrella body of journalists and media practitioners in Liberia.
For six decades, the PUL has defended press freedom, protected journalists, and promoted the highest professional standards across the nation.

To unite, represent and defend all journalists and media practitioners in Liberia; to advocate for press freedom, safety and welfare; and to promote the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct.

Elected Officers
National Executive Committee (LEC)
The National Executive Committee is the executive body responsible for implementing the decisions of the PUL and managing the day-to-day affairs of the Union.
Leadership Advisory Council
The Leadership Advisory Council comprises former Presidents and senior journalists who counsel the current leadership of the Union.
Office of National Media Coordination
The Office of National Media Coordination harmonizes media operations across PUL chapters and coordinates national media coverage and response.
Constitution, By-Laws and Code of Ethics
The PUL is governed by its Constitution, By-Laws and the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Liberian journalists.
These documents define the rights and obligations of membership, the governance structures of the Union, and the professional and ethical standards expected of every member.
